INCI: Oenothera Biennis Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annus Seed Oil

A moisturising oil high in GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) and other essential fatty acids. This versatile oil is an emollient that hydrates and protects the skin.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Our organic evening primrose oil is a clear oil with a pale to golden yellow hue. It is extracted from the evening primrose flower and is Cosmos Certified Organic.

This organic evening primrose oil has 0.5% vitamin E (tocopherol) added to reduce any potential oxidation while in storage. Vitamin E has been added through a small amount of sunflower seed oil to ensure a pourable consistency. This is the only way to provide a potent and effective product.

This lightweight oil has a dry feel and is easily absorbed by the skin. It works well in cosmetic products designed to be non-greasy. Try using it in face oils, cleansers, everyday face creams and anti-ageing products.

Our liquid evening primrose oil packs skin-boosting fatty acids that can protect, moisturise and smooth the skin. It can also improve skin texture when used in topical creams and serums.

Cosmetic Functions:

According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Database (CosIng), organic evening primrose oil is a skin-conditioning emollient.

HOW TO USE IT

  • Use 1% to 100%. We find that using up to 10% in skincare products is effective.
  • Organic evening primrose oil is oil-soluble and unsuitable for use in water-only products. However, you can use small amounts in water-based gels to hold the oil in suspension.
  • Although this oil remains stable when used with heat, its GLA content will be damaged. For this reason, you should use it at the cool-down stage (stage 3) when making lotions and creams.

This liquid evening primrose oil has protective properties and is suitable for sensitive skin. Mix it with organic rosehip seed oil, organic thistle oil and vitamin E to create a soothing blend.

When creating products for oily skin, try combining organic evening primrose oil with vitamin A, rosehip seed oil, organic hazelnut oil and our epidermis and sebum balancer.
