Dehydrated Skin

Dehydration is something that the majority of the UK population suffer with at some point in their life. It can be recognised by flaky patches on the skin, a feeling of tightness and under a magnifying lamp the skins cells look more visible and can appear cracked.

Dehydration is often confused with dry skin, however the two are very different. Dry skin is a genetic skin type that you are born with and will usually be life long, it is a lack of oil and lipid secretions within the skin.

Dehydration on the other hand is a lack of water content, so the treatment of the two are very different and it is important to get the correct analysis to determine which you may have. It is not uncommon for oily skins to also become dehydrated and this is where confusion lies.

Treatment for dehydrated skin includes the use of hydrating actives at home such as Hyaluronic acid and Glycerin and in clinic hydration infusions with micro current make a dramatic difference.
