CALECIM® Professional Pigment Solution
An advanced, multi-targeted treatment for pigmentation, dark spots and uneven skin tone.
CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution combines regenerative PTT-6® technology with some of our favourite evidence-based pigmentation ingredients, including tranexamic acid, alpha-arbutin, 4-butylresorcinol, glutathione, niacinamide and a stable vitamin C derivative.
The result is a sophisticated approach to pigmentation that doesn’t rely on one single pigment-suppressing ingredient.
Why we love it at Skin Genie
Pigmentation is rarely as simple as “remove the dark spot”.
Melanin production is a complex biological process, and pigmentation can be influenced by UV exposure, hormones, inflammation, skin trauma and ageing.
This is why we prefer a multi-pathway approach to treating pigmentation.
CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution combines several established brightening ingredients with PTT-6® regenerative technology, making it particularly interesting when we want to improve pigmentation without forgetting about the health and resilience of the skin itself.
What does CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution help with?
We recommend it for concerns including:
• Hyperpigmentation
• Dark spots
• Sun-induced pigmentation
• Uneven skin tone
• Post-inflammatory pigmentation
• Marks left behind following blemishes
• Dull or uneven-looking skin
• Age-related pigmentation
A multi-targeted approach to pigmentation
One of the things that makes Professional Pigment Solution particularly interesting is its combination of actives.
Tranexamic acid
An increasingly popular ingredient in professional pigmentation programmes. Topical tranexamic acid helps target pathways involved in excess melanin production and can be particularly useful when addressing uneven pigmentation.
Alpha-arbutin
A well-established brightening ingredient that helps reduce excess melanin production by influencing tyrosinase activity.
4-Butylresorcinol
A potent tyrosinase-targeting ingredient used to help reduce the formation of excess pigmentation.
Glutathione
An antioxidant included to support the formula’s brightening and pigment-regulating activity.
Niacinamide
A multifunctional form of vitamin B3 that supports the skin barrier while helping improve uneven skin tone and overall skin quality.
Vitamin C
The formula contains sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable vitamin C derivative providing antioxidant and brightening benefits.
Lactic acid
A gentle alpha-hydroxy acid that supports surface cell turnover and helps improve dull, uneven-looking skin.
What is PTT-6®?
PTT-6® is CALECIM Professional’s proprietary regenerative technology derived from ethically sourced umbilical cord lining.
The finished product does not contain stem cells.
Instead, PTT-6® contains a complex mixture of proteins and cell-signalling components, including growth factors, cytokines and exosomes.
Including PTT-6® alongside pigmentation-targeting ingredients allows Professional Pigment Solution to take a broader approach to skin quality rather than focusing solely on suppressing pigment.
Is CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution hydroquinone-free?
Yes.
Professional Pigment Solution is hydroquinone-free and instead combines several different ingredients that influence pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
This makes it an interesting option for people looking for a sophisticated pigmentation programme without hydroquinone.
Can it help pigmentation left after spots?
Yes — the brown or grey marks that remain after a blemish has healed are known as post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH).
Professional Pigment Solution contains several ingredients commonly used when targeting this type of uneven pigmentation.
It’s important to distinguish PIH from active acne, however. If you are experiencing ongoing inflammatory acne, we’d recommend getting advice before starting a pigmentation programme.
Can it treat melasma?
Melasma is a complex and often recurring form of pigmentation influenced by factors including hormones, UV and visible light.
Ingredients within Professional Pigment Solution — particularly tranexamic acid, alpha-arbutin and 4-butylresorcinol — are commonly used within pigmentation programmes.
However, we don’t believe in promising a “cure” for melasma. Successful management usually involves a combination of appropriate skincare, meticulous daily sun protection and, where suitable, professional treatment.
If you suspect you have melasma, speak to us and we can help you build a more complete pigmentation strategy.
How to use CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution
Apply morning and evening to areas of uneven pigmentation before your moisturiser.
For individual dark spots, a second targeted application can be applied directly to the affected area.
If you’re also using CALECIM Professional Serum, apply:
1. Professional Serum
2. Professional Pigment Solution
3. Moisturiser
4. SPF in the morning
SPF is essential when treating pigmentation
No pigmentation serum can compensate for inadequate sun protection.
UV exposure is one of the major drivers of pigmentation, and visible light can also contribute to certain pigmentary conditions.
We therefore recommend using a high-protection broad-spectrum SPF every morning as an essential part of any pigmentation programme.
Skin Genie recommends
Pigmentation is one of the skin concerns where more aggressive doesn’t necessarily mean better.
Repeatedly irritating the skin in an attempt to remove pigmentation can sometimes contribute to further inflammation — and inflammation itself can stimulate pigmentation.
Our approach is therefore to combine intelligent pigment-regulating ingredients with good barrier support, daily sun protection and carefully selected professional treatments where appropriate.
CALECIM Professional Pigment Solution fits beautifully into that philosophy because it combines multiple pigmentation-targeting ingredients with PTT-6® regenerative technology.
Not sure what’s causing your pigmentation? Speak to the Skin Genie team before treating it. Understanding whether you’re dealing with sun damage, post-inflammatory pigmentation or melasma can completely change the approach we recommend.
