Skin Tightening And More – What is HIFU and RF Microneedling?

The Focus Dual® is renowned for its outstanding retexturing and skin tightening capabilities by utilising radiofrequency (RF) microneedling and high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technologies. Unlike traditional microneedling, RF needling has the additional benefit of radio frequency running through the needles into the dermis where it has a 'thermal contraction' effect which results in firmer more youthful skin. HIFU on the other hand uses ultrasound energy to tighten the skin from the deepest layer, the SMAS layer. Using these two technologies the Focus Dual® is capable of achieving results that were previously only possible through the use of surgical intervention! This non-invasive procedure is suitable for clients seeking to address laxity, wrinkles, and textural issues such as scarring in various areas, including the face, neck, décolletage and even the body.

FAQ's

What does HIFU feel like? Patients may feel a mild warming or tingling sensation.

What does RF Needling feel like? Patients can be aware of the needles penetrating the skin, however this is mild and the needle depth can be adapted accordingly.

Is there any downtime? With HIFU there is no downtime, but with RF Needling the skin can be pink and feel tight for a few hours post treatment.

How many session will I need? HIFU Treatments are performed at 8 week intervals and generally between 1-3 treatments are needed. RF Needling can be performed every 4 weeks, up to 6 treatments may be necessary depending on depth of concern.

Can I have HIFU and RF Microneedling at the same time? Although we cannot perform the treatments on the same day, your treatment plan may consist of both but spaced a month a part.

When do I see results? Because both treatments are working to stimulate collagen and regenerate new skin tissues, this process can take up to 12 weeks, so best results are seen 3 months after the final treatment.
