Laser hair removal is a great option for those with challenging hair growth or for those who no longer want the hassle of shaving or waxing. At Skin Genie we use the  PLATINUM ICE laser which means that the treatment feels nice and cool on application and so is virtually pain free.

For full permanent hair reduction we recommend on average between 8-10 sessions however everyone will be slightly different. See below for the answers to frequently asked questions and please feel free to contact us for further information.

What are the benefits of EpiLase Ice Platinum? The Ice Platinum has a revolutionary cooling system that allows for virtually pain free laser treatment. Temperatures are kept constant at -5 which helps to prevent overheating and discomfort. This, also makes it suitable for all skin types even tanned skin.

Does it hurt? Since the laser applicator of the platinum ice laser is cold the treatment is actually very comfortable to have done and is complete in super quick time in comparison to other laser devices.

How many sessions will I need? This varies for everyone depending on skin colour, hair type and the area being treated but on average between 8-10

Do I have to pay for a course up front? Courses are discounted when paid up front however you can also pay for sessions as you go.

Do I need a consultation? Yes, prior to treatment we need to check your suitability and carry out a patch test, this should be done the at least a week before and you should come to your consultation appointment with your hair visible so that our practitioners can assess the growth, colour and texture of your hair. The booking fee for consultations is fully redeemable.

How do I prepare for laser treatment? Avoid all forms of hair removal apart from shaving prior to treatment. Waxing, threading removal creams should be avoided 2 weeks before treatment. 12 hours before treatment carefully shave the area to be treated.

Can I go on holiday whilst having laser treatment?  Laser treatment can make the skin sensitive so we would recommend leaving 2 weeks after treatment before any sun exposure.
